Families Together of Orange County Celebrates National Health Center Week

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FAMILIES TOGETHER OF ORANGE COUNTY CELEBRATES NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK

TUSTIN, Calif., August 8, 2022 – Each year, National Health Center Week (NHCW) celebrates the mission and achievements of community health centers across the country. This year, the annual event is taking place from August 7-13th and Families Together of Orange County, a nonprofit community health center, is celebrating the milestones and achievements that its staff and partners have accomplished.

Community health centers play a critical role in the lives and wellbeing of millions of people across the country. In Orange County, Families Together has helped lead the charge in the fight against the pandemic and continues to expand its services and offerings for patients. This year, the health center expanded into Fountain Valley, increasing access to life-saving healthcare and specialist treatment for the community.

Alexander Rossel, CEO of Families Together of Orange County states:
“Families Together has come a long way in the fight to provide healthcare to communities that traditionally lack access. From our humble beginnings as a small clinic, we’re grateful to the community and the various partners that have allowed us to grow and provide such an expansive list of services to Orange County residents. This week, we celebrate our journey and the trust we have successfully built within our community.”

To celebrate the achievements of community health centers, Families Together, in partnership with the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, will host a community health and enrollment fair at its site in Tustin. The health fair will take place on NHCW’s Patient Appreciation Day and will provide attendees with health and vision screenings, assistance with enrollment into government programs such as CalFresh and Medi-Cal, education about the services offered at Families Together and resources available to the community.

Isabel Becerra, CEO of the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers says:
“As we celebrate National Health Center Week, we want to recognize the partnership between patients and community health centers. Through these relationships, health centers are able to continue to learn how to best serve their communities, as well as provide services across the continuum of care – from enrollment into health care coverage to accessing services. Our hope is that this health fair will broaden the community’s knowledge of resources available to them.“

Additional partners for the health fair include CalOptima, Lestonnac Free Clinic, Orange County SSA, Health Net and the Alzheimer’s Association. A karate and cooking demonstration will take place, along with other fun activities for attendees.

The health fair is open to the community and will take place on Wednesday, August 10 from 4-7pm at the Families Together Wellness Center located at 621 W. 1st St. Tustin, 92780.
