Healthy Weight Management
The lifelong struggle with obesity begins at an early age for many people, potentially leading to a variety of serious health complications. At Families Together of Orange County, we believe the key to successfully maintaining a healthy weight is early intervention. We take a holistic approach, focusing on helping children and teenagers build healthy habits and develop the tools needed to achieve safe, sustainable weight loss. Our services include mental health and nutrition counseling, medical evaluations, specialist referrals, exercise planning and meal planning, all tailored to your child’s specific needs.
Immunizations
From polio to diphtheria, childhood diseases once ranked among the greatest fears of parents and guardians. Thankfully, modern immunization schedules have significantly reduced or virtually eradicated many of these terrible communicable diseases. If your child requires vaccination, either as part of their normal schedule or as a recommended precaution, we’re here to help. We offer vaccinations for children of all ages. We can also help you keep track of your child’s shots and ensure they’re fully vaccinated in time to start school on schedule.
School Physicals
Whether you call them yearly checkups, annual exams or routine wellness visits, pediatric physicals are an essential part of your child’s healthcare. They are often required for students at the beginning of each school year, but they’re also necessary for most sports teams, summer camps and even jobs for teenagers. Whatever the purpose, it’s easy and convenient to schedule a checkup with Families Together of Orange County. Our physicians will review your child’s medical and immunization history, check their vitals and perform a comprehensive physical examination. In addition to helping us diagnose potential health issues, this allows us to track your child’s development and ensure they’re as physically and emotionally healthy as possible.
Pediatric Programs
Vaccines for Children
When it comes to preventing death and illness, childhood immunization is one of the most powerful tools we have at our disposal. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the vaccination of children born between 1994 and 2018 alone will prevent an estimated 26.8 million hospitalizations and 936,000 deaths. To ensure every child is afforded this critical protection, we’re working with the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program to deliver safe, effective vaccines at little or no cost. This includes all of the shots recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for infants, children and adolescents. Child Health and Disability Prevention
A lack of financial resources should never stand in the way of your child’s health and wellness. With the Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program, you can access a wide range of preventive healthcare services at no cost to you. The CHDP program offers free comprehensive health checkups and immunizations for those who qualify. In addition to a physical exam and medical history review, each checkup includes dental, vision, hearing, behavioral health and nutrition screenings. The program also provides temporary Medi-Cal coverage and referrals to other essential services.
