Monkeypox (MPX)
Families Together is working to help reduce the spread of monkeypox within the Orange County community. We are offering vaccine services by appointment only to eligible patients and members of the community based on CDC guidelines.
While there is no specific treatment for monkeypox, if you may have been exposed to someone infected with the virus, it is recommended you get vaccinated. The monkeypox vaccine is given in two doses and patients will reach peak immunity 14 days after the second dose. The second dose can be scheduled 28 days after your first dose.
Families Together is offering the JYNNEOS monkeypox vaccine to patients based on CDC guidelines. Eligibility can be self-attested. Those who meet the following criteria will be eligible to make an appointment:
- Must be 18 years old
- Existing FTOC patient OR Orange County resident and falls under one of the following categories
- Anyone who has had multiple sexual partners in the past 2 weeks in an area with known monkeypox
- Anyone who’s sexual partner in the past two week has been diagnosed with monkeypox
- Anyone that has been identified by public health officials as a contact of someone with monkeypox
Vaccines for monkeypox are available at our Infectious Diseases Clinic in Fountain Valley and in Tustin from Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. by appointment only. Please call 1(800) 597-7977 or request an appointment via our website.
HIV Treatment and Counseling
Although infection rates continue to fall and survival rates continue to climb, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) remains a serious and life-altering condition. There is currently no cure, but early intervention is highly successful in slowing or stopping the progression of HIV and preventing the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). That’s why Families Together of Orange County provides safe, speedy, discreet testing and all-inclusive treatment options and resources.
Because living with HIV and AIDS can be profoundly challenging, we also offer counseling and therapy services in a compassionate, judgment-free environment. This includes individual and group therapy sessions, family and relationship counseling, support groups, risk reduction, bereavement therapy and more. As always, our goal is to provide holistic services that go beyond simply addressing medical needs. We offer complete care and support, giving you the treatments, resources and coping skills you need to live a happier, healthier, longer life.

Wound Care
Your skin is your body’s first line of defense against pathogens, so any break in this protective envelope is potentially vulnerable to infection. While punctures, lacerations and other traumatic injuries should always be treated and monitored closely, chronic wounds are of particular concern. This includes any wound that hasn’t started healing within a month or completely healed within two months. These wounds are typically caused by poor blood flow and are most often associated with diabetes, vascular diseases, mobility limitations and other conditions.
If left untreated, chronic wounds can cause significant pain, impair quality of life and substantially increase the risk of developing a serious infection. Families Together of Orange County can successfully treat all types of wounds, from pressure sores and ulcers to burns and surgical incisions. We offer personalized treatment plans featuring a full range of wound care services, including debridement, oral and topical medications, growth-factor therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
STD Screening
While some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) produce clear and unmistakable symptoms, many others can spread silently without causing any apparent adverse effects. Perhaps it’s not surprising, then, that an estimated 80% of sexually active people are infected with an STD at some point in their lives. Consequently, regular STD testing is a key part of any preventive healthcare routine. While all sexually active adults should be screened at least annually, your doctor may recommend more frequent testing depending on your specific risk factors.
At Families Together of Orange County, we’re on a mission to make STD screening quicker, easier and more accessible for everyone. We offer confidential testing and timely results in a supportive, stress-free environment. Our friendly staff can also assist you in finding medical care, counseling and any other resources you may need.
