Flora Asuncion, MBA Joins Families Together as Chief Operating Officer

Tustin, Calif., June 14, 2023 – Families Together of Orange County (FTOC) is pleased to announce that Flora Asuncion has joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Asuncion is a hard-working and driven individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills throughout her career as a CFO, COO and CEO for healthcare startups, FQHCs and global healthcare companies. Her passion for the healthcare industry and commitment to making a difference make her an excellent addition to the FTOC team.

Asuncion’s impressive career began at Kaiser Permanente, where she held various Finance and Operational Leadership roles for 16 years that encompassed hospital and health plan. 

Given the unique opportunity to work abroad, Asuncion served as the Director of Patient Access Revenue Cycle International Operations at Cleveland Clinic. She played a key role in designing global patient services and assisting in the setup of Cleveland Clinic’s first international hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

As the Assistant Managing Director of the Primary Health Care Corporation in Qatar, Asuncion was instrumental in supporting the transformation of the healthcare system, implementing the National Health Strategy and establishing primary and specialty care services across the country. 

Asuncion, with a successful career abroad, chose to work in community-based FQHCs upon returning to the US, bringing her passion for change and innovation. She serves in various capacities, including as a board member and partner to a start-up hospice in Los Angeles. She has also funded a primary care clinic in the Philippines during COVID-19. Now, Asuncion has joined Families Together in Tustin after relocating from Northern California, ready to make a lasting impact.

Expressing her excitement, Asuncion stated, “I’m so honored to join Families Together. The organization cares so much about providing high-quality healthcare to the community and helping those in need. I believe the potential for growth is exponential given the hard work and dedication of the team. I look forward to working with everyone to take Families Together even further.”

Flora Asuncion’s appointment as COO marks an exciting new chapter for Families Together of Orange County. With her extensive leadership experience and notable achievements in the healthcare industry, she brings invaluable expertise to FTOC as the organization expands and grows.
