Families Together Holds Largest Toy Giveaway in Orange County with Christmas Together 2021

FAMILIES TOGETHER HOLDS LARGEST TOY GIVEWAY IN ORANGE COUNTY WITH CHRISTMAS TOGETHER 2021

TUSTIN, Calif., December 13, 2021 – Santa is getting a helping hand in Orange County this Christmas from nonprofit community health center, Families Together of Orange County, as the organization prepares to give away 20,000 toys to underprivileged children at its 17th Annual Christmas Together event on Saturday, December 18.

Each year, Families Together gives back to the community with its toy giveaway event, Christmas Together, a joyous occasion with games, food, and plenty of fun for all ages. In 2020, the organization gave away 6,000 toys via a modified drive-thru event, but this year it has more than tripled that number to 20,000 and is taking over the Honda Center, making it the largest toy giveaway in Orange County and the biggest Christmas Together event the nonprofit has ever hosted.

With roughly 30,000 people and more than 6,000 families expected to attend the event throughout the day, it was a massive undertaking not only to plan the event but also to make sure that Covid safety precautions were in place. To control the amount of people at the event at any given time, the organization has implemented a color system which gives families a time frame in which they can come and enjoy the event. The event is also taking place outdoors.

Preparations for this year’s event began in June, and now with less than a week away the final touches are being made to make sure that the toys and the Honda Center are ready for the big event this Saturday. For CEO of Families Together, Alexander Rossel, this year’s Christmas Together event was exactly what he had in mind a year ago:

“This year has been even more difficult for many families in our community, and I’m so proud of the team that has come together to put on this event. Last year, I made a promise that we would deliver 20,000 toys and hold the biggest Christmas toy giveaway in 2021, and with the help of the City of Anaheim and Congressman Lou Correa, we are on track to achieve that. We’re thankful and excited for the families to come and enjoy a day of fun and forget any worries that they might have at home.”

Christmas Together is an all-day event where local representatives, members of the community, and close to 400 volunteers from across Southern California will come together to bring Christmas cheer to families that have faced financial hardship in the past year- all made completely free of charge to attendees by Families Together or Orange County.

All attendees and volunteers must be pre-registered for Christmas Together, and toy registration along with event registration has now closed.

Covid-19 safety protocols have been put into place to keep all parties who are attending or volunteering at the event safe.
