TUSTIN, Calif., November 16, 2023 – Families Together of Orange County (FTOC), a nonprofit community health center, is gearing up for its highly anticipated event, Christmas Together, the largest toy giveaway event in Orange County, scheduled for Sunday, December 10th at the Anaheim Convention Center.
After months of preparation, Families Together is promising the biggest and brightest Christmas Together celebration to date for its 19th annual installment. With an unprecedented increase in the amount of toys to 30,000, and an estimated attendance of 50,000 individuals, the organization is looking forward to spreading holiday cheer once more through this extraordinary spectacle.
Alexander Rossel, CEO of Families Together of Orange County, expressed his dedication to the organization’s mission of giving back to the community each holiday season, stating,
“Families Together has the honor of serving the community at each of our clinics. They trust us with their health and well-being, and every year this is our way to say thank you to our community and those we serve.”
With just under a month until the grand celebration, Families Together is diligently finalizing logistics to ensure the success of this year’s event. Since launching registration in October, approximately two-thirds of the available slots, or 22,000 children, have already been filled. The organization is now reaching out to the community to help fill the remaining spots, with a focus on children and families who could benefit from that extra touch of holiday magic this year. Simultaneously, Christmas Together is actively seeking volunteers from the community to dedicate their time and support, as it strives to make this event truly memorable for everyone involved.
Rossel added, “As we approach our 19th Annual Christmas Together celebration, we are humbled by the community’s trust in us. This event embodies the spirit of unity and generosity, and we are excited to bring joy to even more families this year.”
Christmas Together, which originated as a small toy giveaway event in 2004, has evolved into a grand celebration under the current leadership of Families Together CEO, Alexander Rossel. The event, which began with a humble distribution of a few hundred toys, has seen exponential growth over the years, reaching 20,000 toys in 2021 and 2022. This year’s substantial increase to 30,000 toys solidifies Christmas Together as the largest toy giveaway event in Orange County for the third consecutive year.
Beyond being a toy giveaway event, Christmas Together is a joyous, all-day occasion that is completely free of charge to attendees. Thousands of families can partake in games, enjoy food, entertainment, and special appearances from the likes of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, elected officials and more.
This remarkable event is a testament to FTOC’s unwavering commitment to the Orange County community. Christmas Together is primarily self-funded, with the generous support of the Anaheim Convention Center, allowing Families Together to host this annual holiday celebration. The organization looks forward to once again bringing cheer to thousands of families in December and encourages the community to join in the spirit of giving by volunteering for this heartwarming event.
