Families Together Responds to Attack at Vaccination Site in Tustin

On Thursday, December 30th, an individual harassed patients and attacked staff members at Families Together of Orange County’s Tustin location where Covid-19 vaccines were being administered. Unfortunately, one member of the Covid vaccination team sustained serious injuries and was sent to the hospital. We are relieved to share that both members of the team are expected to make a full recovery within a few days.

We are thankful for our team’s bravery, strength and resilience. Despite the violent nature of the assault, Families Together kept offering vaccines and boosters to patients that day and the team was fully back at work the following week.

In response to the attack, Families Together of Orange County has released the following statement:

“We’re extremely saddened to report that staff members working to help vaccinate patients in Tustin were attacked last week. While Families Together believes that vaccines are important in the fight against the pandemic, we understand that the decision to get vaccinated is purely personal. However, we will not tolerate violence or harassment of any kind against our staff, patients or volunteers. We’re proud of the strength and bravery of our team, and while this incident has shaken us, we will not be deterred from our mission to keep our community safe and healthy. On the contrary, it has motivated us to fight even harder.”

Families Together of Orange County offers medical, dental, vision and wellness services in Tustin and Garden Grove. It is one of the top ten vaccine administrators in Orange County and has administered more than 50,000 shots in arms. Vaccines, boosters and tests are available in Tustin and Garden Grove locations Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
