TUSTIN, Calif., January 18, 2022 – Families Together of Orange County suffered an attack against its staff on December 30 where several members of the Covid-19 vaccine team were assaulted and one was sent to the hospital. While all staff that were involved have recovered physically, the announcement that justice is one step closer to being served brings comfort to a team that has been working tirelessly to help fight the pandemic in Orange County.
In response to the announcement that the individual who attacked the vaccination site on December 30 will face charges, Families Together has released the following statement:
“We are thankful to the District Attorney’s office for his announcement of charges against the individual who attacked our vaccination site last month. We are in agreement that this individual should face the fullest extent of the law and that violence is never an option. While our staff are still recovering from the incident, we feel safer knowing that we are one step closer to justice being served. Most importantly, we hope that the charges announced today will help healthcare workers feel supported and protected by the authorities while performing their duties and saving lives. And of course, we hope that the end result proves that violence, regardless of political or personal opinions, will never be tolerated. Our team has continued to show boundless bravery and strength in the weeks since the attack, and we could not be prouder of what we continue to accomplish for our community every day.”
Families Together of Orange County offers medical, dental, vision and wellness services in Tustin and Garden Grove. It is one of the top ten vaccine administrators in Orange County and has administered more than 50,000 shots in arms. Vaccines, boosters and tests are available in Tustin and Garden Grove locations Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
